Hugh has a commercial practice and a particular interest in disputes concerning construction, infrastructure, engineering, energy, and natural resources. He has assisted clients throughout the world in relation to litigation in national courts, as well as international arbitrations conducted pursuant to the ICC, LCIA and SCCA Rules.

Prior to the bar he was an associate at eminent law firms in Australia and in the Middle East.

Early in his career he was an associate to the Hon Justice Mullins AO of the Supreme Court of Queensland (as her Honour then was) and to Deputy President Dr P McDermott RFD of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
