Anna Crawford

Anna has an extensive legal practice that encompasses civil law, with a specialised focus on areas relevant to commercial law, such as professional indemnity and public liability, which often intersect with business and contractual obligations. Since beginning her readership at the Bar in October 2024, Anna has drawn from her prior experience as a Solicitor, where she handled medical negligence, health law, and professional liability cases. She has represented clients in regulatory proceedings involving bodies like AHPRA, the OHO, and the Coroner, addressing clinical, professional, and ethical concerns within both public and private health sectors. Her expertise covers complex legal issues, including cases of catastrophic medical negligence, boundary violations, and employment-related disputes.

Anna’s legal background includes defending clients in discrimination and human rights claims within tribunals such as QCAT and the Federal Court. She has experience in disputes involving Queensland Blue Card Services and has acted in cases concerning guardianship, human rights, and industrial matters, particularly where employment law and discrimination intersect. Her extensive public liability practice also includes product liability and consumer law cases, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the statutory frameworks impacting individuals and organizations in regulatory disputes.

In addition to her civil and regulatory law experience, Anna has engaged in sports law, where she leverages her background as an elite athlete. She has represented sporting bodies in tribunal-level disciplinary proceedings, addressing issues of conduct and compliance within competitive sports.

Admitted as a Solicitor in 2019, Anna was a Senior Associate at Barry Nilsson Lawyers prior to joining the Bar, where she refined her expertise in high-stakes legal matters and advocacy.
