Richard has a broad civil practice, with a particular interest in commercial and property disputes, administrative and public law, digital assets and regulatory matters. He appears in all State and Federal courts and tribunals.
Prior to being called to the bar, Richard was a partner in a large Brisbane commercial litigation team and he has 20 years of experience as a commercial litigation solicitor. During that time, Richard’s areas of expertise included property, resources and mining, shareholder, joint venture and company disputes, regulatory prosecutions, professional disciplinary matters and all aspects of contractual disputes. Richard has been involved in litigation in the courts and tribunals of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Richard has been involved in many mediations during his career.
Before joining the bar, Richard was the Deputy Chair of the Innovation Committee of the Queensland Law Society and he remains an ongoing proponent of innovation in legal practice.
