David commenced as a barrister in February 2005 after 2 years employment at Allens and a year as associate to his Honour Justice Callinan AC. David took silk in December 2019.

David’s principal area of practice is commercial law. He appears in bankruptcy and insolvency matters, banking and finance matters, property disputes, business and contractual disputes and professional negligence matters. David has also practised in criminal and family law matters that have a commercial aspect.

David has been recommended in Doyle’s Guide as:

  • a leading Queensland commercial litigation and disputes barrister in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024;
  • a leading insolvency and reconstruction barrister in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024; and
  • a leading construction and infrastructure law barrister in 2023 and 2024.

David also appears for banks, liquidators and receivers, financiers, developers and businesses.
